Transportation
GVFTMA, established in 1990, offers a wide variety of services. Our innovative transportation programs and active role in transportation planning has helped improve mobility in the region. We have also been instrumental in increasing labor force access to businesses in the Greater Valley Forge area. What Does GVFTMA Offer?
The services listed below are designed to meet the transportation needs of public and private entities:
Cruise Line Inter-Corporate Shuttle Service - The Greater Valley Forge TMA administers PennDOT's Intercorporate Shuttle service. The service provides on time, executive style front-door service to businesses from train stations, transit centers, and park & ride facilities througout the region. Companies reduce costs by partnering with other participants located along the U.S. 202 Corridor.
Transit Route Planning - GVFTMA works with SEPTA and private transit providers to broker new and expanded transit services to better serve our members' employees. GVF Transportation performs market research for businesses and local government to determine the feasibility of transit development and/or expansion.
Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS) - GVF Transportation joined with SmarTraveler Inc., to bring ATIS to the region. Call to receive real-time traveler information on all major highways. Mobile Phone: #211; Land Line: 215-567-5678
SEPTA Token and Pass Sales ("Transit Stores") - GVF Transportation supplies tokens, transit passes and regional rail tickets at the Upper Merion Township Building as well as the King of Prussia Court and Plaza. We can also assist companies in establishing their own transit stores.
Corporate Rideshare Plan - GVF Transportation can help your organization determine its employee commuter needs through surveys and zip code maps. Transportation expos inform employees about commuting options and transit service to the work site.
Newsletter - AIM, "Americans In Motion" - GVF Transportation produces this quarterly newsletter covering current transportation issues both in Pennsylvania and nationwide.
"Share A Lot" Program - GVF Transportation initiates this unique program to create private park & ride lots throughout the region. GVFTMA will maximize the availability of parking facilities for your employees.
Residential Shuttle Program - A number of municipalities need transportation services for their residents. GVFTMA has already implemented a residential shuttle in Upper Merion Township and Bridgeport Borough servicing residents during off-peak hours. GVFTMA is working to initiate similar programs in other municipalities.
Municipal Services Program - This program brings neighboring municipalities together in order to more effectively solve transportation issues that affect each of them. Municipalities jointly focus on problems that require more resources than any one municipality might individually have. GVFTMA organizes municipal task forces to maximize state, federal and local resources. For instance, GVFTMA annually coordinates and submits TMA members' projects for inclusion in PennDOT's 12-year plan.
Public Park & Ride Information - GVTMA works with PennDOT to locate, develop, and promote Park & Ride facilities throughout the region.
